Baby's Red and Green Wavy Christmas Stocking

We had a baby boy! Way back in May...and he has a blanket that I haven't made a post about yet. I'll get to it eventually. Anyway here is a quick post about the Christmas stocking I made the little munchkin.

Thoughts on the process

I absolutely love this stocking and how well it came out. The wavy design looks fantastic. The instructions were a little hard to follow. Moreover, I learned that there are many kinds of puff stitches, so definitely follow what these instructions say.

I made this stocking from the part of my stash that is leftover from when I made a bunch of scarves for my family. Using only my stash is actually why the stocking is a little different than the pattern with the single row of red at the top. I ran out of white yarn right at the end! However, I actually like it this way. The stocking starts and ends with green in the main body and adding the red at the very end gives the color its own moment to shine.

The one feature I don't like about this pattern is there is a noticeable difference between the front and back of the stocking. So there is only one direction it can be hung. However, I don't know of a way to fix this problem, so I do not blame the designer.
